Merryhill IDM appoints new directors
1st June 2008 - Asbestos Services and Disaster Recovery group Merryhill IDM has announced the appointment of two new directors to the board. With immediate effect, Paul Fox takes up the role of Director of Business Development, and Andrew Dart takes up the role of Operations Director.
Paul's role encompasses responsibility for all strategy, sales & marketing activities within the business, whilst Andy now takes operational responsibility for the four existing divisions, namely Asbestos Major Works, Asbestos Small Works, International Damage Management and Merryhill Asbestos Testing & Consulting. Managing Director David Mulcahy commented, "These two appointments are the beginning of some major structural and strategic changes to our business, designed to enable the group to further develop its market position over the coming years, I am delighted to welcome Paul and Andy to the board."
Merryhill IDM secures ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard
1st May 2008 - Merryhill Envirotec Ltd, the asbestos removal specialist headquartered in Romsey, Hampshire, along with sister company IDM, who specialise in commercial fire and flood disaster recovery, has been awarded accreditation to international environmental standard ISO14001. ISO14001 is the corner stone standard of a series of international standards on environmental management. It provides a framework of control for a sophisticated Environmental Management System and a supporting audit programme, against which an organisation can be certified by a third party. Merryhill Envirotec, the only UK asbestos management company selected to remove asbestos from the site of the Olympic Park for 2012, and IDM, well known regionally for restoring Southampton University’s Mountbatten building after the devastating 2005 fire, have spent 12 months establishing systems, controls and policies to position themselves as the leading combined UK contractor in their joint industries in terms of environmental management and control. Merryhill launches a new Special Projects Division
1st July 2007 - Merryhill Envirotec has split our asbestos removal business into two separate divisions, in order to further augment the quality of services we offer clients new and old. A new Special Projects Division is being created, to be headed by Andrew Dart. Andrew will be focusing on further enhancing the range and depth of services offered to clients on high value and technically complex contracts, and growing the division through the development of partnering, framework and long term relationships with both public and private sector organisations.
Our Small Works Division, to be headed by Vernon McKenner, will continue to provide first class asbestos management solutions throughout the South, South-West, London, Wales and the Midlands. Vernon is additionally tasked with developing current relationships with clients in order to provide them with genuine one stop shop solutions to all aspects of their asbestos removal and reinstatement projects. In addition, the SWD will be focusing on bringing in new clients across the region with the objective of becoming the default provider of advanced asbestos solutions for the private and public sector. Merryhill opens a major regional South West Operations Centre
1st July 2007 - Merryhill Envirotec and Merryhill Asbestos Testing & Consulting have opened a major new regional operations centre in Taunton, Somerset, to provide extended service provision to clients throughout the South West, the Midlands and Wales.
